From 6 April 2026 the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) rules changed:
- You get the lower of £123.25 a week or 80% of your average weekly earnings.
- It’s paid from the first day off sick (the 3 waiting days were removed).
- There’s no minimum earnings threshold — all employees are eligible.
- Paid for up to 28 weeks.
